Why the fit matters more than the price
There is no shortage of cheap excavator buckets online. They are everywhere: marketplace listings, auction sites, no-name importers selling out of shipping containers. And at first glance, they look the same as ours.
They are not.
The difference is in the parts you cannot see from a product photo. The pin hole diameter. The weld penetration. The steel grade. The heat treatment. These are the things that determine whether a bucket still fits tight on your coupler after a thousand hours, or whether it is rattling around like a loose tooth after two hundred.
We see it all the time. An operator buys a cheap bucket, and six months later they are shimming the coupler pins, replacing worn teeth for the third time, and wondering whether the coupler itself is the problem. Nine times out of ten, it is not. It is the bucket. Poor tolerances in the mounting holes cause play, and play causes accelerated wear on everything: the pins, the coupler locking mechanism, the bucket ears, and the structural welds.
Harford buckets are engineered to eliminate that cycle. Tight pin holes. Proper steel. Welds that hold. A bucket that fits your coupler the way it was designed to, and keeps fitting it.

Common questions
Will this bucket fit my coupler?
Our mini excavator buckets are machined to fit QC27 standard quick attach couplers with a 1.25" pin. That is the most common hook-and-pin system on compact excavators in the US. If your machine runs a Bobcat, Cat, Kubota, Deere, Takeuchi, Case, Komatsu, Doosan, or JCB coupler in this size class, it will almost certainly fit. Use our compatibility checker to confirm, or send us your machine details and we will verify.
I am getting play between my bucket and coupler. Is my coupler worn out?
Not necessarily. In most cases, the play comes from the bucket, not the coupler. Aftermarket buckets with loose-tolerance pin holes cause slop that accelerates wear on the coupler pins and locking mechanism. Before you replace the coupler, try a bucket with properly machined mounting holes. You may find the "worn out" coupler is actually fine.
Can I get a different mount configuration?
Yes. If your machine uses a different coupler standard or pin size, get in touch with your machine make and model and we will quote for the correct mount.
How do I replace the teeth and side cutters?
Both are bolt-on. No welding, no special tools. Unbolt the worn ones, bolt on the replacements, and you are back digging. We stock replacement teeth and side cutters for same-day dispatch.
What steel is the bucket made from?
Hardox 450 wear plate for the cutting edge and high-wear areas, with S355 structural steel for the bucket framework. This combination provides exceptional abrasion resistance where it matters most, with the strength to handle heavy loads.
What is the difference between your buckets and the cheap ones on eBay?
Tolerances, materials, and welds. Our pin holes are machined to tight tolerances so the bucket sits properly on your coupler without play. We use Hardox 450 wear plate rather than mild steel. And our welds are full-penetration, not cosmetic. The difference is invisible in a product photo, but you will feel it the first time you dig with one and you will really feel it at 500 hours when it still fits tight.
How much do they cost?
Pricing depends on the width and mount configuration. Contact us for a quote and we will come back to you the same day.
Do you offer other bucket types (trenching, grading, riddle)?
This is a general-purpose digging bucket designed for versatility across trenching, excavation, and loading work. We are expanding the range. Get in touch to register your interest and we will let you know when new products drop.
